Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a resident who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in association with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident made him without words and had to be solved quickly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in February 2020.
